The Time Tree is an interactive story adventure, for 8-12 year olds and their families.
When a mysterious time gateway appears – which lets people travel into the future – an investigator is sent to find out what is going on. But then the invesigator vanishes, leaving only their notebook behind…
Each participant “finds” a copy of the investigator’s notebook, and this becomes their guide to the experience, during which they explore the green space in which the story is set, and exchange messages with a character from the story using their mobile phone.
This exciting story-led experience gives participants a chance to see a familiar green space with fresh eyes, to think about the future, and engage with nature in an imaginative, hands-on way. Exchanging messages and calls gives participants a real sense that they are part of a story playing out in real time.
The experience has been created for 8–12 year olds and their families, but it’s suitable for anyone who is confident about sending and receiving text messages and making calls on a mobile phone. Children can be accompanied by an adult, and will enjoy having the story read to them as they go along; confident readers can complete the adventure by themselves.
